i havent done this to mine yet *im only 18* but i would think maybe using a set of pulleys rigged up to a system on your garage ceiling or something...it cant weigh more then a couple hundred pounds, and thats on the extreme side.

I have a 68 that i'm getting ready to pull the body off. First you need to get the body mounts off. sometimes this isn't that easy. Use alot of penetrating oil. Then you need to disconect everything that runs from the body to the frame, Trans, engine, ect. Take your time and label all the parts you take off. Better yet, if you have a camera, use it. There are many parts that need to be removed or disconected. There are too many parts for me to list off the top of my head. you also want the body as light as possible. Take off the bumpers, seats, ect. Then you need to get the body off. It isn't lite. If you strip the body all the way down, you will still need about six people to lift it. another point. You will need a body dolly for the body to rest on. The other thing to do is build a frame to attach a hoist onto that can pull the body up with. You need to support the front end of the car since there is no structure to support it. Take your time, plan every detail out. Get a few books to help further research or better yet find someone who has done a body lify before. There is alot involved, but the results will be worth it. Good luck, Jim

I have a 69 and took the body off myself about 6 yrs ago. I left everything in place seats, bumpers everything. After disconnecting the body mounts, I care fully just started jacking the body up and disconnected anything that was still connected. I kept jacking a little at a time from the front then the back then the front etc. and supported with wood as I went up until I got it high enough to rest the body on 55 gal drums with 4x4 under the body.
Actually I was supprise how simple it went. Just make sure you lable everything and take pictures.... Other then that it went well and I did it myself too!!

Good Luck
