Does anyone out there know how to keep the pipes from blueing and tarnishing from the heat ???
I was told to liberally coat the insides with oil before initial start up. The oil will turn to carbon thus dissipating heat. The idea being to keep the pipe temperture as low as possible wile carbon builds up. Any truth to this ???

I know a few Harley riders who use grease on the inside of their new pipes. It smokes reeeaally bad till it burns off, but their pipes don't seem to blue afterwords. They claim it "cokes" the inside of the pipes? Never tried it myself.
