posted 10/25/03 6:01:40 PM the retard before my ownership of my 79 vette painted the side moldings on the bottom of the doors, metal strips around windshield, molding around back window, and strips of metal on the t-tops black. im using Jasco Epoxy and Paint Remover on it to remove the paint. so far i have completed the door moldings, front window moldings. im currently trying to do the rear window molding.
Question: How do I remove the metal window molding from the rear window? i've heard it has clips but i cant find them.
help would be REALLY apperciated on this one.
LONG LIVE THE CORVETTE!

posted 2/19/04 6:25:41 PM Since no one replied to you regarding trim color or removal of rear trim around the rear window I will. The trim in all of the locations you described is a flat to semi gloss black from the factory. I am the original owner of a 79, bought new on 11-15-79. Don't remove the paint and try to make it look like a 77, it's a 79. To remove the rear window trim is risky, you will bend up most of it before you can get it free. Most of the trim pieces are getting harder to find, remember these cars are 25 years old now.

posted 3/9/04 1:59:44 AM is there a way to take the clips off so bending the trim doesn't happen? i really want this trim to be the chrome it originally has on it.
