Your reply:	Grimbo, Your 79 Headlight switch is on the steering colomn. You can find a replacement from your Chevy dealer. You could switch to low beams with a pair of pliars and leave them on low for a while untill you can locate the proper handle. Sometimes the handle gets broken off when the dimmer switch goes bad and the owner keeps trying to switch the lights from low to high or high to low(don't ask me how I know this), at this point you will have to replace the dimmer switch and the handle. Neither one an easy job, best left to a real mechanic at that point. Good luck, try to enjoy your car! JohnSeventyOne
